Travel Guide to your Holiday in S'Algar:

There is no beach as such in S'Algar but there are sunbathing terraces so there will be room for everyone to enjoy the sun. S'Algar is the perfect holiday resort for those looking to totally relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

The popular holiday resort of S'Algar may be small but is well established. S'Algar is also great for Scuba Diving with some of the best diving sites just off it's shore.

S'Algar is around 30 minutes transfer time from Menorca Airport by coach.

Beaches on Holiday in S'Algar:

There isn't actually a beach in S'Algar but there are plenty of swimming platforms which will allow you enter the sea for a spot of swimming or even some snorkelling. The closest beach to S'Algar is actually in Cala Alcaufar which is a good 15 minutes walk away. The beach here is not great but it is safe for small children and is perfect for a few hours sunbathing. There are no facilities as such at this beach.

Things to do on Holiday in S'Algar:

If you enjoy water sports then a holiday in S'Algar is the place to be. There is the opportunity to try your hand at various water sports including water skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing and of course diving. For diving S'Algar has underwater caves and coral reefs to explore.

Boat trips are also popular from S'Algar and can be a great way of seeing other resorts or the many secluded coves and beaches in the area.

There is a mini train that runs round S'Algar in the evening, during the summer holiday months.

Out and about on Holiday in S'Algar:

There are only two restaurants in S'Algar and a bar but nothing in the way of nightlife. Entertainment at night times in S'Algar is mainly centered around the hotels and generally stops around midnight.

Shops in S'Algar are quite limited too but you should find everything you need. There is a large supermarket in nearby Sant Luis.

Mahon is also not far away from S'Algar and bursting with shopping, dining and entertainment venues.

Nearby Attractions to S'Algar:

Close by to S'Algar there is a bowling and entertainment centre which also features a children's playground, cafe and arcade machines in Son Bou. Son Bou is also home to the golf course, putting green and driving range.

The Menorca Zoo is situated close to S'Algar on the road from Alaior to Mahon and features a selection of animals including goats, horses, cows, deers, emus, snakes and a large variety of birds. There is also a shop, picnic tables and play area here.

The capital, Mahon which is close to S'Algar has it's fair share of historic buildings such as La Mola, a gigantic fort which is located at the harbour side and the Baroque church of Santa Maria to name but a few. Many holiday makers come to Mahon to shop and will certainly not be disappointed. There are many bars and restaurants and nightclubs too, so it may well be worth saying over to take full advantage of what Mahon has to offer whilst on your holiday in S'Algar.
