Travel Guide to your Holiday in Mojacar:
Mojacar, has almost 17kms of beaches and is this relatively quiet and low-rise beach holiday resort. Mojacar has water-sports and golf courses and is linked to the old hill top village of Mojacar Pueblo with traditional winding streets, white washed buildings and an idyllic setting.

Mojacar comprises two areas, backed by the Cabrera Mountains. Mojacar Playa is a low-rise resort which lays alongside miles and miles of beach. Mojacar Pueblo is a charming and traditional whitewashed hilltop village that lies approx 2km inland.

Beaches on Holiday in Mojacar:
The beach in Mojacar runs the entire length of Mojacar and beyond for a total distance of approx 17km. Beach activities and holiday watersports are available on Mojacar beach including banana boat rides, sailing, fishing and boat trips, scuba diving and snorkelling.

The central beaches of Mojacar can become quite busy in the summer holiday season and are particularly family friendly. At regular intervals along the Mojacar beach there are children's play areas, multi-sports courts and beach bars right on the sands of the beach. At the top end of the holiday resort of Mojacar, near the Marina de la Torre golf course, the beaches are excellent for windsurfing and kitesurfing and, near the Mojacar Parque Commercial the beaches are less developed.

Things to do on Holiday in Mojacar:
Explore the winding streets of the Mojacar Pueblo, its charming cobbled alleys and pretty plazas. Stop for a coffee at the Mirador de Plaza for far reaching views across the valley or make your way to the highest point, the Mirador del Castillo, for views over the Mojacar coast. Historic attractions in the village include La Fuente Mora, a spring water fountain dating back to Roman times; the 14th century Church of Santa Maria and the 15th century old city gate.

There are two 18 golf courses in the resort of Mojacar at Playa Macenas and Marina de la Torre as well as a 9 hole course at Cortijo Grande. The nearest water park is Parque Aquatico at Vera Playa which is around 9km from Mojacar and is open for the summer holidays from May to September.

Out and about on Holiday in Mojacar:
In the beach resort of Mojacar Playa there are shops and restaurants at the Parque Commercial, as well as a taxi rank and the bus station. Buses run regularly along the beach and up to the village of Mojacar Pueblo. There is no promenade as such in Mojacar but, across the road from the beach, there are pleasant lawns and palm trees, low-rise apartment complexes, shops and restaurants. There is a handful of nightclubs in Mojacar and nightlife is more vibrant in the summer months.

In the village of Mojacar Pueblo you will find some individual shops and boutiques for local crafts and clothing. For local produce, the Mojacar Pueblo market is held on Wednesdays. Nightlife is low key in Mojacar Pueblo but there are plenty of restaurants around the plazas and tucked away in the hilly little streets, many with terraces offering fabulous views.

Nearby Attractions to Mojacar:
The harbour town of Garrucha which is 7km north of Mojacar is a traditional working fishing village with a great sandy beach. If you are around in the afternoon when the fishermen return with their catch, you can buy fresh fish or the famous red prawns, from the quay. The palm-lined promenade runs for approx 2km and market day is Friday mornings. Also close by to Mojacar is Garrucha with the caves of Almanzora.
