In fact you can walk along the Roquetas de Mar beach all the way to the neighbouring resort of Aguadulce (5km) to the east of the Roquetas de Mar harbour and to Puntas Entinas Sabinar natural park (4km) to the west of the harbour. On Roquetas de Mar beach there are good holiday facilities for water sports including jet skiing and water skiing as well as sailing and fishing.

Things to do on Holiday in Roquetas de Mar:
Golfers on holiday in Roquetas de Mar will be pleased to find a golf course at the western end of the resort, Playa Serena Golf Club. A further golf course, La Envia Golf Course, is just 15 minutes drive away from Roquetas de Mar. Walkers and birdwatchers will appreciate the natural environment of the salt flats and marshlands that lay behind the Roquetas de Mar beach at the Puntas Entinas Sabinar.

Next to the marina in Roquetas de Mar you will find the Castillo de Santa Ana housing a museum and, next to that, the Roquetas de Mar lighthouse. Other historic and cultural attractions including the crumbling Arabian watchtower of Torre de Cerrillos and the bull ring which is located at the northern edge of Roquetas de Mar, next to the municipal football stadium.

For family fun on holiday in Roquetas de Mar there is a small sea life centre, a karting track and an aqua park. Especially for the kids Roquetas de Mar has a great little amusement park with bumper cars, trampolines, mini golf and bouncy castles.

December 29th is a busy day in Roquetas de Mar, when locals flock to the Roquetas de Mar beach for the fish barbecues, music and fun that define the Moragas festival.

Just a little further out from the center of Roquetas de Mar, past the bull ring, which also houses bars and restaurants, you will find the Parque Commercial Gran Plaza, packed with international stores, designer brands, cafes and fast food outlets. The Roquetas de Mar street market is held on Thursday mornings and has over 250 stalls and is great for those holiday bargains.

Nearby Attractions to Roquetas de Mar:
The sports and leisure resort of Almerimar is approx 25km drive along the coast to the east from Roquetas de Mar and the holiday resort of Aguadulce with its sandy beach and marina is approx 9km drive to the west. The main town of Almeria and its imposing fortress of Alcazabar is around 25 minutes drive away from Roquetas de Mar and the diverse landscapes of the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata can be reached in approx 1 hour.

The Oasys Theme Park in the Tabernas desert offers a great day out from your holiday in Roquetas de Mar for all ages, with its staged Wild West town and themed shows as well as a safari zoo.
