Islantilla is a recently created holiday development with two shopping malls, a variety of bars and restaurants and a golf club which is said to be one of the most beautiful in the region.


The holiday resort of Islantilla lays alongside a long stretch of golden sand beach with walkways lined with palm trees. Islantilla has a golf course overlooking the sea and is well placed for you to enjoy a variety of activities surrounded by natural scenery.

Beaches on Holiday in Islantilla:
A long and sandy beach runs the length of the Islantilla and beyond. The background scenery varies for the length of the beach and, for the most part, it is backed by a pedestrianised promenade with boardwalks onto the beach. The beach runs seamlessly from Islantilla into La Antilla, where it is backed a residential road or with villas directly on the sands.

Things to do on Holiday in Islantilla:
Walk along the dune backed beach from Islantilla towards El Rompido for approx 4km and you will find yourself on the sandy spit called La Flecha. From here you can take a boat or the ferry across to El Rompido marina or, further along, you can cross over to Nuevo Portil.

Activities such as sailing, fishing, windsurfing, scuba diving, hiking, birdwatching and horse-riding are all readily available whilst on holiday in Islantilla.

Islantilla has 2 shopping centres, one of which is at the golf resort, providing holiday makers with a supermarket, shops, bars and restaurants.

In the adjoining town to Islantilla, La Antilla you will find more shops and pavement cafes, particularly along the coloured pedestrianised street of Avenida Castilla, as well as beach bars and tapas bars.

Nearby Attractions to Islantilla:
Islantilla is located between the resorts of El Rompido and Isla Cristina both of which have a marina, golf courses and a small shopping centre. A little further from Islantilla in El Portil, there slides and pools at the Aquopolis Cartaya Water Park provide a fun holiday day out for the family.

The city of Huelva is approx 40 minutes drive away from Islantilla, which is flanked by two rivers and has historic ties with Christopher Columbus. A little further on is the Donana National Park and a guided tour should reward you with sightings of deer, boar, wild horses and countless water birds.

The old town of Ayamonte is approx 25 minutes drive from Islantilla and, lying alongside the River Guadiana is the port and border town to Portugal. The quaint sand streets of the famous pilgrimage town of El Rocio, is approx 70 minutes drive from Islantilla, on the outskirts of the Donana National Park. The spectacular mining landscapes and the Museum of the Rio Tinto mines is approx an hour and a half drive away from Islantilla, as is the beautiful old city of Seville.
