The Larnaca region or area of Cyprus covers the lively resort of Ayia Napa ideal for both the younger guests in Ayia Napa centre and for family and couple holidays in the Nissi Bay area of the resort plus the lovely beach resort of Protaras and of curse the holiday resort of Larnaca its self with its long beaches back by a pedestrian promenade.

There are numerous sandy beaches in the holiday resorts of the Larnaca region. Several in and around Larnaca and some exellent holiday beaches suitable for family holidays in Ayai Napa and Protaras.
South of Larnaca centre and at the end of the airport runway is the popular McKenzie Beach, the beach is quite narrow though around 1km long and is backed by a wide promenade lined with several hotels, shops, cheap bars and restaurants.

Faros Beach is a small and quiet beach 12km south of Larnaca, close to the village of Pevolia. This holiday beach an ideal choice for families with small children and has facilities including a beach bar, water sports and lifeguards during the summer holiday season.

Things to do on Holiday in the Larnaca area:

Larnaca Fort found next to the Finikoudes Beach in Larnaca and contains a small Medieval Museum. Its courtyard is used for cultural events in the summer holiday season.
The Pierides Museum in Larnaca is housed in the former Pierides family colonial-style home; it's the oldest private museum on Cyprus and features treasures from all over the island of Cyprus.

Out and about on Holiday in Larnaca:

Situated south west of Larnaca town, Larnaca Salt Lake is a large wetland. This unique area of natural beauty is an important habitat of international ecological significance. The Salt Lakes are a stopover for thousands of migratory birds’ species. More than 80 species of birds find their feeding and roosting area at the lakes in Larnaca. Many birds such as Flamingo, ducks and seagulls overwinter here, escaping the cold weather. On average 1500 Flamingo overwinter on the lake at Larnaca each year.

Around 25km from your holiday in Larnaca is the picturesque mountain village of Lefkara, renowned for the beautiful lacework produced here.

The Choirokoitia Neolithic Settlement is a major archaeological site and can be found 35km outside of Larnaca just south of Lefkara. On the UNESCO World Heritage list the site dates from around 6800BC.

There are several water parks dotted around the Larnaca region for you to enjoy on a day away from the beach plus a go cart track and helicopter rides available in Ayia Napa
