The modern side of the town is quite a contrast and you can't fail to notice the minimalist style church overlooking the ocean, the colourful School of Music and the designer-style police station surrounded by a cactus garden. Here you will also find the big cheap supermarkets, out-of-town retail outlets and a large Macdonalds restaurant. The Farmers Market usually has around 50 stalls and is held on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

There are 2 golf courses within 10 minutes drive of your holiday to Playa Paraiso. Golf Costa Adeje is an 18 hole championship course overlooking the ocean with a practice bunker, putting and chipping greens. Abama Golf is also an 18 hole course set in a beautifully landscaped terrain with lakes, waterfalls and thousands of palm trees. Forming part of the Abama Golf and Spa Resort there is also, of course, a Spa featuring an attractive hydrotherapy pool, Turkish hammam, Roman tepidarium, relaxation area with heated loungers, massage treatments rooms and a fitness gym.
