Holiday in Las Vegas

A holiday in Las Vegas is the worlds ultimate entertainment holiday, Holidays in Las Vegas are a constant whirlwind of multi-million dollar casinos, glittering star-studded dinner shows and out-of-this-world themed hotels located in the middle of the arid Mojave Desert. The 'Strip' is an area of blatant decadence, a mixture of erupting volcanoes, duelling buccaneers and white tigers enticing you into the dazzling live entertainment shows. Downtown, the spectacular Fremont Street Experience awaits, an amazing array of entertainment and pyrotechnic displays.

What To See on holiday in Las Vegas

The legendary Las Vegas 'Strip' provides the most familiar image of Las Vegas and is a pastiche of colour, fantasy and theme park. Entertainment on a holiday in Las Vegas centres on the spectacular hotels, the shows, and the themes they offer: Circus Circus has the world's largest indoor theme park, the Adventuredome; Treasure Island offers the tempting Sirens of TI in a battle of the sexes with a band of renegade pirates and is also home to Cirque du Soleil's Mystere; Paris Las Vegas allows you to ride an elevator to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas!; Excalibur has live medieval-style jousting at King Arthur's Tournament; try the Manhattan Express Roller Coaster at New York-New York; ride the High Roller, the world's highest roller coaster, X Scream and Big Shot where you are propelled a further 160ft in the air at Stratosphere; watch the dancing water shows in front of Bellagio every 15 minutes; Luxor is home to Ra Nightclub and The Blue Man Show; Mirage provides the biggest outdoor spectacle, an artificial volcano that erupts 4 times every hour.The hotel also boasts a white tiger habitat and a dolphin pool;
Fremont Street Experience with its spectacular entertainment extravaganza featuring 2.1 million lights and 540,000 watts of stereophonic sound.

Away from video poker, blackjack and roulette wheels, Las Vegas is surrounded by some of America's most spectacular scenery including of course the incomparable Grand Canyon. Construction of the massive Hoover Dam 36 miles south east of Las Vegas also led to the creation of Lake Mead, the largest man-made body of water in America with over 500 miles of shoreline. Boating, swimming, water-skiing and fishing are some of the great holiday activities available. The Red Rock Canyon, just outside Las Vegas is a firm favourite amongst holiday hikers and climbers who are drawn by the beautiful rock formations, coloured sandstone and spectacular scenery.

Food & Drink in Las Vegas

On holiday in Las Vegas visitors will have no trouble satisfying their appetites and it is not too much of an exaggeration to say that you can eat anything you want whenever you want. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all represent fantastic value and nearly all the casinos offer round-the clock buffets. To buy or consume alcohol in America you need to be 21 years old or over and you will be asked to produce ID.

Shopping on holiday in Las Vegas

Whilst on holiday in Las Vegas you can delight in the many designer clothing and jewellery stores that are found in all the hotels. CDs, DVDs and gadgets are some of the other purchases that can be made in addition to the many souvenier shops located around the city from which to buy that unusual holiday gift.
