The island is also said to be the home to Hippocrates and there is a medical sanctuary dedicated to the Asklipos (God of medicine) just outside of Kos Town.. Beaches At Kardamena the main beach is wide and gently shelving. The beach at Kos Town is in long, narrow sand and pebble strips. Lambi beach is Kos Town's largest and most popular, located 5km away. The sleepy hillside village of Kefalos overlooks the Kamari beach, a long double curve of coarse sand and pebble. Paradise, Hawaii and Magic beaches are all within easy reach by taxi.
