Holiday in Costa Blanca

Travel Guide to Costa Blanca

Costa Blanca is named after the white houses that formed the old fishing villages and nestle into the hills that rise in the background, Spain's 'White Coast' is a holiday makers paradise.

The sands here are some of the best Blue Flag beaches in Spain, and are beautifully looked after.

Nightlife and beach days are not all this beautiful region is famed for.

A short stroll in Benidorm's old town will take you back to a quaint Spanish lifestyle, while there are a wealth of traditional mountain villages just a short drive away.

For those looking for a more peaceful holiday, we offer a selection of smaller and more cultural destinations to the north of Benidorm.

Getting Around
Take the coastal train or bus to see other resorts or visit Alicante.

Within Benidorm taxis run 24 hours a day.

Hire a car and drive up into the hills.

Eating and Drinking
It's worth coming here just for the culinary experience.

The region offers a wealth of traditional restaurants and Tapas bars and a huge range of international restaurants can be found in Benidorm.

The local drinks are Moscatel (try as an aperitif), Sangria, wine and Spanish beer.

Eating out is generally good value.

Local interest and culture
The busting Old Town of Benidorm is a good place to experience Spanish life and try out one of the local Tapas bars.

For a cultural day out take a trip to Valencia.

The National Park at Calpe is now home to flocks of flamingos and is worth a visit.

Beaches
The main two beaches in Costa Blanca are located in Benidorm; Levante and Poniente are Blue Flag award winning, beautiful golden sandy beaches which stretch over 5 kilometres.

There are numerous other beaches in the surrounding area, mainly golden sand, although some of the secluded coves are rocky.

Blue Flag beaches in Costa Blanca refer to the Blue Flag website: www.blueflag.org

Fun for the Children
On the edge or Benidorm is Mundomar - a marine and exotic animal park which includes dolphin and sealion shows.
